Scope: Benchmark Contracting, Inc. dba Cobblestone Construction designed and constructed a new Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Maintenance Facility at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. The maintenance facility consists of a structural metal and split face block exterior, reinforced concrete foundation and floor slab, structural steel frame, and standing seam metal roof. The facility included a 5-ton bridge crane and a 60 ton air conditioning system. Sustainable Design and Development (SDD) and Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct05) features were incorporated. This project complied with DOD Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection requirements per UFC4-010-01 and was LEED Gold Certifiable under the USGBC LEED-NC Rating System. Sustainable principles included Life Cycle cost-effective practices, which were integrated into the design, development, and construction of the project.
